This is a partial list of accidents and incidents involving Boeing's Boeing-designed B-17 Flying Fortress. Combat losses are not included except for some cases denoted by a single state. Several documented cases of drone friction are also included.
The aircraft was built by three consortium companies, Boeing, Vega and Douglas, known by the abbreviation BVD. Boeing made airframes at their factory in Seattle, Washington and their production models added -BO. Aircraft Company Douglas built airframes in Long Beach, California with the -DL suffix. Vega Aircraft Corporation, a subsidiary of Lockheed Aircraft Company, in Burbank, California, sends airframes with the suffix -VE.
