Robert Eugene Marve (born February 10, 1989) is a former American football quarterback playing for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). As a high school player, Marve named Florida Mr. Football and a member of the All-American Parade team as a senior at Plant High School in Tampa, Florida after breaking three records of the country's season. The records include, over the yard (4,380), which topped the 2007 Heisman Trophy winners, Tim Tebow, touchdown (48) and settlement (280). He also leads the Panthers to Class 4A championship by finishing 30 out of 46 bait for 305 yards and three goals in game titles.
Marve chose Miami to continue his football career, and sat in his first real season after suffering a broken arm in a car accident over the summer. He became the starter for the 2008 Hurricane squad, leading them to a 6-5 record before being replaced by Jacory Harris for the last regular season matches, and bowl matches. Three days after the bowl match, Marve announces that she will move from Miami, on the grounds that she has decided on her, "... can not play for Shannon's coach". After arguing about where she would move, she decided on Purdue on May 20, 2009.
After the transfer, Marve tore her ACL during summer training, but did not miss any time, as she had to sit for a year due to the NCAA transfer rules. In 2010, Marve won the starting quarterback position and started the first 4 games of the season, going 2-2 before tearing the ACL, ending the season. In 2011, Marve was named a backup quarterback for Rob Henry. But when Henry came down with his own ACL tears a week before the first game, Marve was not ready to be a starter with the pain still on his knee. He sits the first two games of the season, before returning to reserve Caleb TerBush throughout the season.
Marve was awarded a sixth year of appropriateness by the NCAA, after missing several seasons with injury. He returns to Purdue, and is named backup for TerBush once again in 2012. But one day before the first Boilermakers game, TerBush is suspended and Marve is appointed as a starter. Marve responded with his best current game as Boilermaker, throwing for 295 yards and three goals. The following week, TerBush returns as a Boilermakers starter. Marve will continue to see the actions that help TerBush, until she tears her ACL again. After a three-week hiatus, Marve returned to her backup role with Boilermakers. After TerBush led the Boilermakers to a 2-6 record as a starter, he handed Marve support. Marve led Purdue to three consecutive wins to end the regular season, and helped Boilermakers collect a second consecutive bowl appearance.

College career
Miami
2007 season
Marve was redshirted for his first true season in 2007 after a summer car crash in which he suffered a broken arm.
2008 season
He was 6-5 as a starter during the 2008 season, dividing his playing time with a true new student, Jacory Harris. He started every game except the season opener against Charleston Southern, where he was suspended as a result of Marve's arrest at Coconut Grove when he was charged with two minor offenses - refusing non-violent arrest and crime - after he punched and broke the car mirror then tried to dodge from police by running away. Marve finished the 2008 regular season with 9 passing goals and 13 interceptions. He also has 1,293 passing yards in 116 settlements on 213 attempts, for a passer rating of 107.19. Miami received a bowl offer to play California at Emerald Bowl 2008, but Marve did not play in the bowl after being suspended for academic reasons on December 18, 2008.
Transfer
On December 30, 2008, Marve announced his intention to move from Miami; it is believed that he is considering the University of Florida, the University of Tennessee, and Louisiana State University. In response, Miami determined that he could not move to any school in Florida, ACC, or SEC. Marve appealed to the school's athletic appeal committee, and after much negative publicity, Miami raised some of the limitations of the transfer to allow him to move to any school in the SEC, with the exception of the University of Florida, the University of Tennessee, and Louisiana State University. The three SEC schools were chosen based on belief by Miami that people representing the Marve family contacted the schools in connection with Marve's potential transfer. However, restrictions in the state still apply, except for the University of South Florida and Central Florida University, which are allowed to be transferred. In January, Eugene Marve told Miami Herald that Bob Stoops, head coach of Oklahoma Sooners, had expressed interest in Marve's transfer. Eugene also suggested that Marve was considering Oklahoma State University, Purdue University and the University of South Florida. Shortly after Eugene's announcement, Bob Stoops was interviewed by Tulsa World and stated that he did not contact Robert or his family and was not interested in recruiting Robert Marve. Stoops expressed confusion about how the rumor could begin and commented that he was satisfied with the quarterbacks he currently has.
Purdue
2009 season
On May 20, 2009, Marve announced it would move to Purdue University. On July 21, 2009, Marve tore her ACL, but has been asked to sit for a year due to a transfer, so she does not miss playing time.
season 2010
In 2010, it was announced that Marve would be the No. 1 quarterback. 1 who entered preseason camp. Marve started in the 2010 Boilermaker opener against Notre Dame and completed 31 of 42 for 220 yards with 2 interceptions, and Purdue lost 23-12. Marve was injured in the second quarter of Boilermakers' third game of the season, a 24-13 victory over Ball State, but returned the following week against Toledo. During the Toledo game, Marve dropped back to graduate, and tore his ACL left, ending the season.
2011 season
In 2011, Marve was accused of receiving an inappropriate allowance while playing in Miami from Nevin Shapiro. Marve claimed to have benefited in agreement with the NCAA, which allowed him to play in the 2011 season. Marve missed the first two games of the Boilermakers season with his injured knee still not feeling 100%. He's back for the Southeast Missouri country match. Marve returned from her injury and was named Terbush reserve. Marve completed 7 out of 8 passes in the game for 91 yards and a touchdown, as the Boilermakers won 59-0. Against Notre Dame, Marve completed 9 of 22 feeds for 91 yards. TerBush started the game, but there was also a significant playing time for Marve. After the match, Danny Hope said TerBush had better orders of offense, and Marve played outside the system when he did not have to. This triggers Marve to tweet about a situation that says, "Do not understand how I do not play on the system! It's rough from the beginning, do not understand how it is to me." Hope goes on to say that he's fine with the way Marve handles the situation, he's just annoyed at seeing how fans and media take negative comments. The following week against Minnesota, he was again listed as a reserve. Boilermakers won the match 45-17 with TerBush and Marve split the time again. For the game, he finished 4 of 6 bait for 15 yards and touchdown.
season 2012
On January 13, 2012, Marve was awarded a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA due to the high number of injuries he received throughout his career. Marve entered his senior season by breaking play time once again with TerBush, and now Henry is fully recovered. With TerBush working mostly with the first team, he is expected to start the first game of the year, until announced (one hour before play time) that TerBush is suspended and Marve is the starting quarterback. Marve responded by having the best game of his Boilermaker career, throwing for 295 yards and 3 goals, in a 48-6 win over Eastern Kentucky. TerBush returns to the role early next week against rivals, Notre Dame. TerBush played the entire first quarter for Boilermakers, but as Boilermakers was a goalless header, Marve replaced TerBush in quarterbacks in the second quarter. Marve moved the ball to Purdue, leading them on two scoring drives that produced 10 points. Marve had Purdue almost scored again in the fourth quarter, when he was fired and again injured his knee. TerBush came in during the trip and threw the match score into Antavian Edison. Purdue will lose on the next drive as Notre Dame makes a field goal that wins the match. A few days after the Notre Dame game, it was announced that Marve had torn her ACL, and that she would be out for a few weeks.
