The World Commemoration of the Victims of a Road Traffic takes place on the third Sunday in November each year in recognition of the right to road traffic accident victims and their families. It was started by the accident accident agency on the highway, RoadPeace, in 1993 and adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2005.

History
In 1993, the first day of the memorial was hosted by Brigitte Chaudhry, Founder of RoadPeace. In 1995, the General Assembly of the European Federation for Road Traffic Victims (FEVR) added support and in 1998 the event was held in a number of countries including Argentina, Australia, Israel, South Africa and Trinidad in addition to the UK. The World Health Organization added its support in 2003 and in 2005 the UN General Assembly invited all countries to observe the day 'in recognition of the right of the victims of road traffic accidents and their families.
In 2007 the event was held in 18 countries; it is marked by candlelight party in Israel, multi-faith meeting in Australia, a theater show in Mexico, and a seminar in Japan.
In 2008, events were held in 28 countries including Belgium, Croatia, France, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Uganda, UK and UNITED STATES.
In 2009 the event was held in 30 countries. Canadian Transport Minister John Baird sends condolences to those affected from some 3,000 lives and 200,000 injured in road accidents that occur every year in Canada. In England, a service is held at Canterbury Cathedral and in Ripon Cathedral. About 1,000 people attended a service at the Knock Shrine in Ireland. Pope Benedict XVI prayed for "all who have been killed or injured in road accidents". Services are also held in Barbados India, Namibia and many other places.
In 2015, November 15, Former President Brigitte Chaudhry MBE & amp; FEVR President Jeannot Mersch presented on 15 November 2015 in Brasilia with the 'Prince Michael of Kent International Road Safety Award' for the "FEVR section in the creation, development and promotion of World Warning Day for Road Traffic Victims over the past two decades"
