This is a summary of important incidents occurring at amusement parks, water parks or amusement parks currently owned or operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. This list is not intended to be a complete list of any such event, but only those that have a significant impact on parks or park operations, or otherwise are significantly newsworthy. In some cases, incidents occur when the park is under different management or the term incident refers to major accidents, injuries, or deaths occurring in the park. Although these incidents should be reported to the authorities because where they occur, they usually fall into one of the following categories:

  1. Due to guest negligence. It could be a refusal to follow specific safety instructions, or deliberately to violate park rules.
  2. Results of a known or unknown health problem by the user.
  3. Negligence in the park area, either by riding or maintenance operator.
  4. Act of God or common accidents (eg, slipping and falling) that are not a direct result of an action against anyone.

During the 2012 season, all WindSeekers except Kings Island stop, riding the rider in the air. Two such incidents occurred in September at Knott's Berry Farm, one that left riders stranded at the summit for nearly four hours. The California Occupational Safety and Health Administration ordered the trip to end indefinitely on September 19, awaiting an investigation of the length of time a rider was stranded and the cause of the incident. On September 21, Cedar Fair announced the closure of all other Wind Bullets, to the conclusion of an internal review.

The evacuation system is installed in Windseeker owned by Knott's Berry Farm. Designed by the vehicle manufacturer, Mondial, it includes a metal cage that mechanically mounts the wheel axle if the rider is stranded in the air. A worker must travel in the stable until it is fully up and completely wrap up to four seats, then lift the rider from their seat and drop it. This system will also be installed on all other Windseekers.

  • On June 2, 2012, 29 passengers stranded on Cedar Point's WindSeeker for several hours when the gondola stopped a total of about 150 feet in the air.
  • On July 28, 2013, 65 passengers were stuck in Carowinds' WindSeeker for over an hour, when the security mechanisms stopped traveling.
  • On April 11, 2015, 60 passengers were trapped in WindSeeker Carowinds' for about 15 minutes and 150 feet above the ground when the security mechanisms stopped traveling.
