Careers
Early in his career, McNair worked in a number of jobs, including social workers at homeless shelters. She also works to help people in her neighborhood, organize frequent fundraising and serving food at the local Salvation Army shelter. Peekskill, NY, is native known to his community where he is often seen as volunteering in his local church or hosting the Uncle Jimmy Mack's Original Amateur Watch, a recurring fundraiser that helps showcase local comedic talents.
McNair left the construction industry to pursue comedy, a very exhausting effort and paid little; but puts him in touch with other entertainers at, among other places, the Uptown Comedy Club in Harlem where he will meet Tracy Morgan. When Morgan later joined the Players on Saturday Night Live, McNair often wrote sketches and material for performances in freelance capacity. She travels with her dead comedy nightclub to help with writing for a comedy tour "Turn it Funny".

Mentorship
According to New York Daily News , McNair is a close friend and mentor to Morgan. Morgan's ex-wife, Sabina Morgan, noted that the two were "very close," called McNair "... one of the first comedians to carry Tracy under her wing."
Royale Watkins, a comedian and contemporary of McNair and Morgan, said in an interview, "There may be people like Tracy who gain fame and fame, but you have people like Jimmy Mack who have that kind of energy and drive cats like Tracy and keep them on the road. "
Death
On June 7, 2014, McNair was killed at the age of 62 in a six-vehicle crash in New Jersey. McNair was a passenger in a limousine traveling north, north of Trenton, New Jersey, at the New Jersey Turnpike, just after 01:00 EDT, when the limo bus was struck from behind by an operated Walmart tractor-trailer causing a chain reaction accident. The group returned from a show at Dover Downs Hotel & amp; Casino in Dover, Delaware. The other three, Ardie Fuqua, Jeffrey Millea, and actor/comedian Tracy Morgan, were injured in the accident. On July 10, 2014, Morgan and two other passengers filed a law suit against Walmart, accusing the driver of the company's tractor trailer not sleeping for 24 hours before the accident occurred. On March 20, 2015, it was reported that McNair's children were awarded a $ 10 million settlement from Walmart.
She is buried in Hillside Cemetery at Cortlandt Manor, Westchester County, New York.
