Love Happens is an American romantic drama of 2009 written by Mike Thompson and Brandon Camp, and directed by Brandon Camp. Starring Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston. It was released on September 18, 2009.

Plot
Burke Ryan (Aaron Eckhart), is a Ph.D. and the author of a self-help book that advises on dealing with the loss of a loved one. He wrote the book after his wife died in a car accident as a way to overcome sadness. While giving a workshop in Seattle, where his wife came from, he met Eloise (Jennifer Aniston), a creative flower designer who owns her own florist. He refuses his early progress because his past relationship with the man has not gone well, but after a heat exchange in the men's room, he meets him for dinner. Although the dinner was odd, they started spending time together even though he insisted on his mother and his employee, Marty (Judy Greer) that they were not "dating". It seems, however, that Burke has not followed his own advice, and actually has not dealt with the loss of his wife. In the end, he confessed to the audience that he was driving a car, and not his wife, as he had previously defended. Because of this, she blames herself for her death. Eloise, along with his wife's father (Martin Sheen), helps Burke move past his wife's death. Burke goes to Eloise, telling him that he has spent the past few days knowing part of him that is not available and wondering if he is interested to know the part of him that is available.

The film takes place in Seattle, Washington, and was filmed in Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia.
On September 15, 2009, a lawsuit was filed by two authors who claimed that the premise of the film was stolen from them, seeking orders against his release or for future movie gain, estimated at $ 100,000,000.
Reception
Rotten Tomatoes reported that 16% of critics gave positive reviews based on 106 reviews with a score of 3.8/10. Another aggregator review, Metacritic, which ranked normalized from major critics reviews, gave the film a "generally unfavorable" score of 33% based on 25 reviews.
On the opening weekend, the movie opens at # 4 behind I Can Do All Bad With Myself , Informers! , and Cloudy with Bakso Opportunities i> each with $ 8,057,010.

Love Happens was released on DVD & amp; Blu-ray on February 2, 2010. It earned $ 7,721,633 in US DVD sales.
