24 Hours in A & amp; E is a British documentary program, organized in an inner London education hospital. Originally the film was filmed at King's College Hospital on Danish Hill, Camberwell, but in the 7th series, the setting was changed to St George's Hospital in Tooting, Wandsworth and has been filmed there ever since. This Channel 4 documentary series gives viewers behind-the-scenes access to King's College Hospital in Camberwell and currently St George's Hospital Accident & amp; Emergency Department, in Tooting, SW London. Series 1 airs every Wednesday 9 pm and consists of 14 episodes one hour. Filming lasts for 28 days using 70 fixed cameras and is the largest documentary series ever made Channel 4.

This series allows viewers to see a unique set of challenges - including high and low - that A & amps staff are facing E as they handle the hundreds of patients who come through the door every day.

The episode shows how staff work as a team to treat patients who are present involved in various minor and serious conditions, both medical (presumed heart attack, aortic abdominal aneurysm, stroke) and trauma (from domestic accidents to road traffic collisions). The fly-on-the-wall recordings are followed by subsequent interviews with staff, patients and relatives giving their perspective and background on the events shown.

Filming for the second series ends in March 2012. It begins broadcasting on May 16, 2012, again appearing in the Wednesday 9 night slot. It's back for the third series on April 10, 2013 at 9 pm and the fourth series starts on November 13, 2013 at 9 pm. The fifth and sixth series aired during 2014. The seventh series was filmed at St George's Hospital, Tooting. The first episode of this series aired on October 30, 2014 at 9 pm. The eighth series was first broadcasted on January 7, 2015, the ninth and tenth series during 2015, the eleventh series begins on May 16, 2016, and the latest series on November 16, 2016, ends mid-April 2017. The shoot for the 13 series begins in early April 2017.

The production company behind the series (The Garden Productions Limited) has also made four parts of an observational documentary series on mental health. Two years in the making, Bedlam was filmed in a clinical service provided by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM). Both SLaM and King's College Hospital are part of the King Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Center.

Keeping the UK Life: The NHS in a Day , also made by The Garden Productions, but for BBC Two, is based on the upside premise for 24 Hours in A & amp; E : instead of observing different days in one institution, the eight-part series follows the work of various NHS services on one day, Thursday, October 18, 2012. The series airs from March 2013.

Due to the success of 24 Hours at A & amp; E , Channel 4 assigns the series of the same format following the police officers in Luton, called 24 Hours in Prisoner Police .
