David "Davey" Jay Hamilton (born June 13, 1962 in Nampa, Idaho) is a car racer in Indy Racing League, IndyCar Series and Super Stadium Stadium. He has made 56 series starting and while never winning the race, finished 3 times the second. He finished second in the series points in the 1996-1997 season and again in the 1998 season.
Hamilton has been proficient in supermodified racing, as a frequent winner in various supermodified races, usually held in the northern regions of the United States.

Accident
In 2001 at Texas Motor Speedway, Jeret Schroeder lost the engine that came out 2. It caused him to lose control of his car and make contact with Davey Hamilton's engine. In 2010, after retiring from Indianapolis 500 in 2010 on the first lap, Hamilton referred to a 2001 crash while commenting on an early exit of 500 by saying, "It's the second worst day of my racing career... and everyone knows I'm the worst."

Hamilton became a color commentator for Radio Speedway Radio Speedway Indianapolis broadcasts. He then began riding IndyCar 2 seats, which gave rides to VIPs and celebrities in the IndyCar Series races.
