Brian began to get used to living as a father, while Dom tried to help Letty Ortiz regain his memory. Meanwhile, Owen's brother Deckard Shaw broke into a safe hospital that Owen's coma were arrested and vowed to take revenge against Dom and his team, before entering the office of Luke Diplomatic Security Diplomatic Service (DSS) to extract profiles of Dom's crew. After revealing his identity, Shaw engages Hobbs in a fight, and flees when he detonates a bomb that hurt Hobbs. Dom then learns from his sister Mia that she is pregnant again and convinces her to tell Brian. However, a bomb, disguised in packets sent from Tokyo, exploded and destroyed Toretto's house just seconds after Han, a member of Dom's team, was killed by Shaw in Tokyo. Dom then visits Hobbs at the hospital, where he learns that Shaw is a special army of assassins trying to avenge his brother. Dom then travels to Tokyo to claim Han's body, and meets and races Sean Boswell, a Han friend who gave him personal belongings found at the Han crash site.
Back at Han's funeral in Los Angeles, Dom sees a car watching them, and after the chase, confronts his driver, who is declared Shaw. Both were preparing to fight, but Shaw fled when the secret ops team arrived and opened fire, led by Mr. Nobody. No one said that he would help Dom stop Shaw if he helped him get God's Eye, a computer program that uses digital devices to track someone, and saves his creator, a hacker named Ramsey, from a mercenary named Mose Jakande. Dom, Brian, Letty, Roman Pearce, and Tej Parker then watered their cars over the Caucasus Mountains in Azerbaijan, ambushed the Jakande convoy, and rescued Ramsey. The team then heads to Abu Dhabi, where the billionaire has obtained a flash drive containing the Eye of God, and successfully stole it from its owner. With God's Eyes near telecommunication repeaters, the team tracks Shaw, who waits in a remote factory. Dom, Brian, Nobody and his team tries to capture Shaw, but is ambushed by Jakande and his men and forced to flee while Jakande gets the Eye of God. At his own request, the injured Nothing was left to be evacuated by helicopter while Brian and Dom continued without him. To reduce their losses, the crew returned to Los Angeles to fight Shaw, Jakande, and his men. Meanwhile, Brian promises Mia that once they deal with Shaw, he will retire and fully dedicate himself to their family.
While Jakande chases Brian and the rest of the team with a stealth helicopter and unmanned plane, Ramsey tries to hack God's Eyes. Hobbs, saw the team in trouble, left the hospital and destroyed the drone with an ambulance. Brian involves Jakande's accomplice, Kiet, and throws it into the elevator pit, allowing Ramsey to regain control of God's Eye and close it. Dom and Shaw were involved in a one-on-one fight over a public parking garage, before Jakande intervened and attacked both. Shaw was defeated when part of the parking garage collapsed underneath. Dom then launches his vehicle in a Jakande helicopter, throwing a sack of Shaw grenades into his disc, before hurting himself when his car lands and crashes. Hobbs then shoots a grenade bag from the ground, destroying the helicopter and killing Jakande. Dom was pulled from his wrecked car, believed to be dead. As Letty hugs Dom's body in his arms, he reveals that he has regained his memory, and that he remembers their marriage. Dom regains consciousness soon after, commenting, "It's time".
On October 21, 2011, the Los Angeles Times reported that Universal Studio is considering filming two sequels - Fast Six and Fast Seven - back-to-back with a single story line flowing through both films. Both will be written by Chris Morgan and directed by Justin Lin, who has been a franchise writer and director, respectively, since The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006). On December 20, 2011, after the release of Fast Five, Vin Diesel stated that Fast Six will be divided into two parts, with the writing for two movies going on simultaneously. On the decision, Diesel said:
We have to pay off this story, we have to serve all the relationships of this character, and when we start mapping all that, we just go beyond 110 pages... Studio says, 'You can not put all those stories in a fucking movie! '
However, in an interview on February 15, 2012, Dwayne Johnson stated that both the intended sequels will no longer be filmed simultaneously due to weather issues on the set, and that production at Fast Seven will only begin after the completion of < i> Fast Six .
In April 2013, during post-sale titled Fast & amp; Furious 6 Lin announced that he would not return to direct the seventh movie, as the studio wants to produce the film on an accelerated schedule for release in summer 2014. This will require Lin to start pre-production on the sequel during post-production on Quick & amp; Furious 6 , which it deems will affect the quality of the final product. Despite the usual two-year gap between previous installments, Universal chose to pursue the sequel faster because it has fewer franchises than its rival studios. However, subsequent interviews with Lin show that the sixth film is always meant to be the final installment under his direction.
In April 2013, Australian director James Wan, predominantly a horror film, was announced as a sequel director, with Neal H. Moritz and Michael Fottrell returning to produce and Morgan returning to write the script, the fifth in the franchise. On April 16, 2013, Diesel announced that the sequel will be released on July 11, 2014. In May 2013, Diesel said that the sequel will feature Los Angeles, Tokyo, and the Middle East as a location.
Filming
The subject of photography begins in early September 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia, with casting calls issued. Abu Dhabi is also a filming location; the production crew chose it in Dubai, as they would benefit from the Emirates' 30% discount scheme. Pikes Peak Highway in Colorado closed in September to film a series of rides.
On September 16, the production was filmed with Paul Walker and the Kimsey twins, playing his son, Jack, in front of an Atlanta elementary school. The funeral scene Han was filmed at Oakland Cemetery, with the necessary extras for the "cool, trendy and trendy scene of all ethnic types between the ages of 18 and 45". On the night of September 19, Lucas Black joined production for a single scene with Diesel, in Atlanta's parking garage. Separate scenes with Walker were also shot in the same location on the same night, including half of phone conversations between his character and Jordana Brewster. A day later, Diesel posted a picture of a night shoot with Black on his Facebook page.
On October 24, more than a month into film production, Johnson tweeted he had begun filming for the film after wrapping up Hercules. Five days later, Diesel posted Johnson's first photo on set, in a hospital scene.
On November 30, 2013, during a break for the Thanksgiving holiday, Walker, depicting Brian O'Conner, died in a single vehicle accident. The next day, Universal announced that production would continue after a delay that would allow filmmakers to rework the film. On December 4, 2013, Universal delayed production indefinitely. Wan later confirmed that the movie had not been canceled. On December 22, 2013, Diesel announced on his Facebook page that the film will be released on April 10, 2015. On February 27, 2014, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the filming will resume on April 1, and that players and crew have been heading to Atlanta to prepare for another eight weeks of filming. The main photography ended on July 10, 2014.
Stunts
The "air-drop" sequence is contained by the action coordinator, Spiro Razatos, who also oversaw the two previous installments of the franchise; Fast Five and Fast & amp; Furious 6 . Razatos told the Business Insider that he wanted to rely more on real action than CGI because he wanted the whole sequence to "feel real" and meet the expectations of the audience. This action takes months to complete the preparation problem. The camera must be mounted to the car in a way that will not be destroyed when the cars land, and the crew must find a safe way to get the car out of the plane. They do run dry with one car falling off the plane and do this six times. The car was dropped from Lockheed C-130 Hercules high above the Arizona desert, but a close-range shot that showed cars landing on the mountain road was filmed in Colorado. There are two airplanes, flying at an altitude of 12,000 feet, each dropping two cars each. BRS parachute is enabled with GPS secured to each car before the C-130 plane is pulled off. At about 5,000 feet, the parachute is deployed. More than 10 cameras are used for sequence. In addition to the cameras on the ground, there are cameras operated remotely inside the plane and the other three are installed outside each car. The auxiliary camera is in the helicopter, where Razatos is placed overseeing the monitor. Three skydivers are used in shooting using helmet cameras to help shoot sequences from different angles. Sky divers will jump out before the car or after them. While all cars landed in their drop zone, 70% landed perfectly and 30% did not. For a close-up scene that shows the actors in their cars, gigantic 360-degree giant dreadlocks are mounted on each car and filmed with a green screen to reproduce their fall through the sky. The last part of the scene, which shows the cars that hit the road was shot separately. To get it right, the team made a pulley system that had a car six to ten feet above the ground. When they were dropped from the crane, the stuntmen sitting in the driver's seat drove with their engine about 35 to 40 miles per hour and slid to the ground at full speed. The cranes were then removed from the film by computer. Razatos acknowledged that the air-drop sequence was "all real" and it would be "hard up".
The scene featuring Brian jumping off the bus from a cliff is done by a stuntman and all done without computer graphics. The shooting for this particular sequence along with the scene where Dom and his team chase salvage Ramsey almost does not happen due to the absence of tax breaks in Colorado. The studio originally wanted to photograph a sequence in Georgia that provided tax breaks for film production, and then they would add wood in the background after Razatos's rejected production, "the audience will know [it's CGI] and will not feel good about it." finally happened in Colorado.
A total of 340 cars were used in the film, and more than 230 cars were destroyed in the filming, including some black Mercedes-Benzes, Ford Crown Victoria, and Mitsubishi Montero. The film features the most expensive automobile destroyed in a franchise so far: Lykan HyperSport by W Motors, worth $ 3.4 million. The scene of chasing the highway at Monarch Pass Colorado proved to be the most destructive sequence with over 40 vehicles destroyed. Only 10 percent of the action sequences in computer-generated movies, and even then, many CGIs are used only to remove cables and other tools used to film cars and real drivers or to add backgrounds. It took more than 3,500 human days to complete various action movies. For security reasons, the action coordinator, Joel Kramer said that he did not let his driver go above 50 miles per hour.
Redevelopment of Walker characters
In January 2014, Time reported that Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, would retire rather than be killed, and a new scene would be developed to allow the franchise to continue without him. To create the resemblance of Walker, the filmmakers rented Peter Jackson's Weta Digital visual effects house (which had previously produced the image of Gollum in the franchise and the Emperor in the Planet of the Apes franchise). Initially, what Weta can do is very limited by the quality of reference materials available for Walker's physical appearance. In April 2014, it was reported that the Walker brothers, Caleb and Cody, had been hired as stand-alone people. Their collaboration, along with their strong resemblance to their late brother, allowed filmmakers to use the Walker resemblance throughout the finished film. That is, Weta Digital is no longer necessary to rebuild Walker's entire body from scratch, and can focus on modeling his face accurately. The final film shows Walker's face laid over the bodies of his brothers or actor John Brotherton in 350 shots of visual effects. 260 uses faces made by computers, while 90 actual footage taken from Walker's face are borrowed from censored or longer snippets.

Review the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reports an 80% rating based on 241 reviews, and an average rating of 6.6/10. The website's critical consensus reads, "Serving a new round of over-the-top sensations while adding an unexpected dramatic increase , Furious 7 makes the franchise move in more ways. " At Metacritic, which gives a normalized ranking, the film has a score of 67 out of 100, based on 44 critics, showing "favorable general reviews". In a CinemaScore poll conducted during the opening weekend, cinema goers gave Furious 7 the average value of "A" on A to F scale.
The film received a very positive review after it was released on a secret screening at the 2015 SXSW Film Festival on March 16, 2015. Ramin Setoodeh from Variety noted that fans started lining up outside four hours before the movie was scheduled to start. The film concludes with an award for Walker, which makes many people in the theater "hold back tears". Critics Dave Palmer gave the 7/10 movie, saying, "Furious 7 is the kind of movie that Michael Bay has spent his entire career trying to make: full of images of scantily dressed women, fast cars, and smart liners".
A.O. Scott of The New York Times gave the film two and a half stars out of five and said, "The Furious 7 expanded its inclusive ethic, its predecessor's stereotype." Compared to almost all large-scale companies and other large, Furious brands practice sleek multiculturalism, no big deal, and nod to both feminism and domestic traditionalism. "
John DeFore of The Hollywood Reporter criticized the film, describing it as a "stupid diversion", saying time is running "overinflated"; he compares watching the movie with an unnatural game, in addition to criticizing the scenario.
Accolades
Sequel
Regarding the possible sequel, Vin Diesel said:
I try to stay close to the vest along the release. Paul Walker used to say that [the eighth movie] is guaranteed. And in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you sometimes feel like you have to make sure it happens... so if fate has it, then you will get this when you hear it. [ Furious 7 ] is for Paul, [the eighth film] comes from Paul.
Diesel further hinted at the eighth movie on Jimmy Kimmel Live! when he stated that Kurt Russell's character will reach many films. He also stated that the film will take place in New York City. Chris Morgan wrote his sixth script in the franchise, while Neal H. Moritz returned to produce. Moritz then stated, "[The story] will be something that appeals to us all... it should be as good or better [than Furious 7 ]".
In 2015 CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Diesel announces the film for release date April 14, 2017. On August 16, 2015, at the Teen Choice Awards 2015 (where the Furious 7 received the award for Film Options - Action and Walker received award for Choice Movie Actor - Action), Diesel gave this movie the start of the title Fast 8 . In September 2015, Diesel stated that the script was nearing completion, and expressed interest in Rob Cohen, who directed the first film, to direct the eighth installment. On October 14, 2015, Diesel announced on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that Straight Outta Compton directed by F. Gary Gray will direct the movie.
In July 2015, Moritz said that Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, would not appear in the film, following the use of CGI in previous films after Walker died in a single-vehicle accident on November 30, 2013, with Moritz claiming that his character had "moved". Earlier it has been reported that Paul's younger brother, Cody Walker, will join the cast in a new role, or replace his older brother in the role of O'Conner; However, it was later announced that the character would not return to the franchise. Moritz also said that the film would shift the focus of the franchise from a series of robbery films into spies, following similar changes in the focus of street racing at Fast Five (2011). In December 2016, the movie was titled The Fate of the Furious .
