Death and legal reactions

On November 30, 2013, at about 3:30 pm PST, Walker and Roger Rodas, 38, left the event for a Walker Reach Out Worldwide charity for victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda), with Rodas driving a Porsche Carrera GT. At a speed of 45 mph (72 km/h) on Hercules Street near Kelly Johnson Parkway in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California, the car crashed into a concrete light pole and two trees and caught fire. Rodas died of double trauma while Walker died of the combined effects of trauma and burns. Both of their bodies were burned beyond recognition.

The curves in which Walker and Rodas get killed are a popular spot for drifting cars. No alcohol or other drugs are found in the human system, and no mechanical failures or road conditions appear to play a role. Police found no evidence of drag racing. The investigation concluded that the speed of the car - between 80 mph (130 km/h) and 93 mph (150 km/h) - and tire age were the main reason for the accident.

With the Furious 7 in the middle of filming at Walker's death, Universal announced an indeterminate hiatus on production, citing the desire to talk to his family before deciding what to do with the film.

Many friends and movie stars send tribute to Walker on social media. His body was cremated and his ashes buried in a non-denominational ceremony at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In December 2014, Walker's father, Paul III, filed a false claim of death against a Rodas real who sought his comeback, or a "proportionate share" of income generated by a group of cars owned jointly by Walker and Rodas.

In September 2015, Walker's daughter Meadow filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche over the death of her father, claiming that the Porsche Carrera GT has many design flaws including a history of instability, and the placement of its seat belt can cause damage during a collision. Porsche's response denied any wrongdoing and blamed Walker himself, stating: "Hazards, risks, and dangers are open and clear and known to him, and he chooses to do himself in a way to expose himself to such hazards, dangers, and risks, assuming all the risks involved in using the vehicle. "In April 2016, US District Court Judge Philip S. Gutierrez decided to support Porsche in a separate lawsuit filed by Roger Rodas widow Kristine. The verdict has nothing to do with the other two cases against Porsche that had been filed by Walker's father, who is also the actor's actor, and his daughter. Father and son Walker both reached an agreement with Porsche.
